| Often times you will have to do biographical research for a variety of class projects. Below you will find a wealth of resources for biographical information on a famous person or maybe someone more obscure. Consider this Biography Central! Print Sources: When looking for books about people, always look in the Biography section of the library. The call number starts with B and books are on the shelf alpha by the name of the person the books is about. EX: B ARM for Lance Armstrong. If you are looking for books about groups of people, turn to the Collective Biographies. The call number for these books is 920s in nonfiction and 920s in reference. The 920s have great resources so never overlook these even if you have to browse a little harder or ask for help. Online Databases: Searching these will provide you with good general information and put you there in seconds. You can link directly to the datbases by clinking on database name. Ebsco: Choose Student Research Center. Check only Biographies and enter the name of the person your are researching. Gale: Select any of the general databases and enter the name of the person you are researching. Student Resource Center should provide some good general information. ABC-CLIO: This database is great for researching historical figures.
